onehunga blockhouse and jellicoe park

After the liverpool street tuff we stopped by at Jellicoe Park. We went to go and see the blockhouse. the blockhouse is a brick house that they use for storage and meeting rooms now. It used to be a house to defend some people from attacking Auckland in 1860 to 1870 I think. We went to see inside the other houses in the park. There were two white wooden houses. One was called Laishley house. It had lots of souvenirs. I got a blockhouse spoon and an old newspaper from 1977. I saw lots of clothing, toys, pottery, books and mannequins.

We went into the other cottage and went up a very steep ladder into a bedroom. I saw a desk with homework sheets, little blackboards and games of ludo.
