Waikowhai Bay

A popular spot to park and sit, watch the tide, Mangere and planes taking off and landing in the distance.  The rare moments of serenity keep the field trippers returning. At low tide there are wading birds, and at any tide, seagulls.  The bay is accessed from Hillsborough Road.  It's a good point to begin a walk Cape Horn via track or beach at low tide (hat tip to Auckland Council for the map).
